INTRODUCTION
The bench has been designed for the study of the thermodynamic cycle of an ice machine. The evaporator has special profiles where nebulized water is injected through a series of nozzles. An increasingly thick stratum of ice adhering to the evaporator is thus obtained. When the ice has formed, a timer interrupts the nebulization and sends hot gas to the evaporator, causing the ice cubes to fall into the container provided for it. Ice production capacity may vary with cycle performance, depending on conditions around the unit.

TRAINING PROGRAM:
• Study of the operation of an ice machine
• Analysis of system behavior as a function of supply water temperature and ambient temperature.
• Use of the Pressure-Enthalpy diagram of the refrigerant gas as a working and diagnostic tool: representation of the refrigeration cycle.
• Data collection and calculation:
- thermal balances at the level of the evaporator, the condenser, the compressor
- the mass flow of the refrigerant
- ideal and real cooling efficiency coefficients (EER)
- volumetric compression efficiency

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
• Steel structure mounted on wheels, varnished and oven-treated
• Screen-printed synoptic in colors reproducing the hydraulic circuit, with indicator LEDs
